Low tide foreshore walk
At very low tide you can walk along the foreshore from the East Portlemouth ferry slipway all the way to the stepping stones at the end of the Waterhead Creek. The walk goes over sand and seaweed and along a rocky foreshore, so you’ll need proper footwear and good balance. There are various places along the way where you can leave the foreshore and join the lane.
When you reach Waterhead, cross the stepping stones, follow the footpath ahead of you to the top of the hill and continue along the lane down into South Pool.
Warning: The foreshore is only accessible for two hours either side of low tide. Always be aware of the incoming tide.
